Ines chose the food can category for her playful cat food design, it was inspired by her lifelong fascination with food and its packaging.

Her first thought was to focus on seafood, but she then realised that inspiration was right there in the room - in the form of beautiful pet cat Ludi.

Ines had never designed cat food packaging before but she absolutely relished the challenge and decided to focus on the flavour that drives Ludi crazy - turkey pâté!

What the judges thought:

Ines created a great narrative to come up with this idea and we could feel the strong personal connection. The execution of the design has real personality and is quite simply fun! We could easily imagine it instore on the shelf and felt it would really stand out!

Design rationale:

The thought behind the execution design was ‘good vibes’. Ines was determined to create something fun that was certain to make people smile. Rather than include stereotypical images of cats, she decided to create a ‘cat character’ that would really grab people’s attention. The resulting clean design with its striking colours speaks for itself.

Quote:

“In this project it was clear from the beginning that I wanted to do something fun, colorful and eye- catching. Basically, taking this opportunity to have fun, be creative, and create something that I love visually and graphically.”
