Trivium Packaging announces its Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) programming, “The Foundation For Generations: Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow,” a celebration of the manufacturing industry, from its early days to a look ahead into its future.

The events aim to engage younger generations and their parents to showcase the wide range of career opportunities manufacturing can offer from professional and technical jobs to operational services. Part of the challenge is to break the negative stigma around manufacturing jobs in order to attract young talent and meet customer demand. The festivities will kick-off on October 4, 2022, with events running throughout the month of October.

“By opening our doors, we’re showing students, parents and community members the reality of modern manufacturing careers and the opportunities within our industry,” shares Trivium Packaging’s President of the Americas, Jens Irion. “This is the 2nd year in a row we will participate in this national event, as we have seen the benefits in our local footprint from last year’s participation. We, along with other manufacturing companies, have a duty to inspire the next generation to start careers in manufacturing in order to position ourselves as the employer of choice in the communities we operate.”

Trivium plants in Conklin, NY, Roanoke, VA, Weirton, WV, and Youngstown, OH will participate. Activities will include plant presentations with Q&A sessions around manufacturing and career paths, plant tours, and family and children’s activities like arts and crafts.

Held annually on the first Friday in October, MFG Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders. As manufacturers seek to fill 4 million high-skilled, high-tech, and high-paying jobs over the next decade, MFG Day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
